What's On My Shelf (January 2022)

Updated: Sep 26, 2023

Time for a highlight reel to begin the new year to help you discover some new reading material!! I hope you'll find something of interest!

What have you enjoyed reading lately?

Christian Fiction

This was a fun historical fiction read about a the daughter of a mobster (naturally). And the rest of the story isn't as simple as you might think! 5 stars.

Cadence's dream is to become a nurse, but during the civil war it wasn't that easy. She uses her vocal talents to encourage the wounded around her, eventually finding herself right where she wanted to be. Inspired by the life of Elida Rumsey, you'll enjoy this historical novel! 5 stars.

Classics

I've not read many classics since my AP English class, and this was my first reading Jane Eyre...although I don't know why! I really enjoyed it and felt sorry for not having read it sooner. Jane is an orphan and becomes a woman looking to find her way in the world

Christian Living

If you're thinking about reading the Bible this year, this book is for you! There's practical tips to help you learn and understand more from the passages you are reading. Find my review here. 5 stars!

We've all been there, stuck from a hurt relationship. Find encouragement to take a deeper look at forgiveness and reconciliation on a personal level. Check out my review here. 5 stars!

Growing in our knowledge of God's character is a humbling-much needed-endeavour. This journey through the attributes of God was inspiring, and his prayers to begin the chapter always seemed to hit a mark. 5 stars.

Devotional

Have you wondered what it means to abide? Do you want to go deeper in your relationship with God? Pick up this book to sink into scripture! My review is here. 4 stars.

Commentary

This was a wonderful journey into the themes in the book of Revelation. My review is here. 5 stars.
