My Mosaic (Apr 6)

"See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God's children-and we are!" (1 John 3:1)

Reflecting on the love of God shown us in the Lord Jesus' life, death, and resurrection this weekend, I came to this portion of a prayer:

Jesus Christ, what is there in heaven and earth that your love has not made ours?

There is nothing left but yourself.

And what would all these things profit us without you?

Without you, earth would be hell and heaven would not be heaven. For you are the hope of earth and the glory of heaven.

This is the height of your love: you have given us yourself, and all with yourself. You are our husband, and heaven and earth is our inheritance.

Your person is ours, for you have married us.

Your offices are ours: you are our King, our Priest, our Prophet.

Your sufferings, your merits, your resurrection, ascension, and intercession-all, all is ours that you have, or do, or suffer.

Your love withheld nothing from us:

not your life-you gave your life as a ransom for us;

not your blood-you washed us in your blood.

O boundless love!

Oh, the unsearchable riches of your love!

O happy souls that have interest in this love, in these riches!

May you be filled with peace and great joy as you consider the great love of God in the gospel this weekend.

This Week in Articles

"As we continually expose ourself to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and as we just open our empty hands before him, we can trust that he will do his work." What a promise to hold onto this season.

"When we follow the Lord, we commit to a lifetime of living by faith rather than by sight." As much as we enjoy seeing results or the fruits of our labor, Tim's words remind us of this truth of following Christ.

It may be our natural tendency to fear and constantly consider the "what-ifs." this article from Risen Motherhood helps put these fears in a biblical light.
