My Mosaic (Sept 11)

Happy Friday!

What has this week looked like for you?

It's the end of a momentous week as the kiddos head back to school, (whether it's at home or at the school) with all the excitement (and drama) of their return. Meanwhile the weather cools, frost descends and normal still seems so faraway.

This month I've been learning a lot about peace; what it means, what the Bible teaches us about it, and how to practice living in it. I've been constantly reminded that our peace resides in Christ alone, not in circumstances, rules or environments, not in physical safety and not in our mental health - "for He Himself is our peace" (Eph 2:14).

As you enter the weekend, with your family around you and a break from the new routines, may that deep longing you feel for peace be found as you draw near to Him.

How has your peace been affected this week?

New research says that this time away from church has impacted whether or not we pick up our Bibles. Have you found it hard? You're not alone. Here is some encouragement to help us and challenge us.

What is your identity? Where do you find the truth of who you are? "Listen to these words by Tim Keller: “The Christian Gospel is that I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, yet I am so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time.”

Here are a few tips that can help make your day today better. First tip, SMILE!

"While community engagement is visible externally, what holds us back often is something internal, so here is where we will start."

New moms face many challenges, feeding the family (feeding the baby), hormones and the home. Here are some great ideas how you can support a new mom.

"I can still remember the Sunday school songs I sang 30 years ago. Songs can help Scripture sink in. They can make theological truth beautiful, ingrained in our bodies as well as our minds." Check out this list of places to find quality Christian music for kids.

Have a great week!
